Our family is saddened to announce the passing of our father, Dr. John B. Patzwald, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He will be remembered on many levels:

As an award-winning educator, who had a huge impact in the community - developing open campuses, and expanding learning opportunities for everyone.

As an outstanding athlete, who led his beloved Golden Gusties to multiple championships, was drafted by the Lakers in 1956, and elected to the Gustavus Adolphus Hall of Fame in 1981.

As a tough youth basketball coach, who always stressed the fundamentals of footwork and defense.

As an amazing dad, who provided lifelong lessons and unconditional love to his three sons.
